As Todd Friesen is so fond of telling people, I can relate anything (and everything) in Web marketing and search engine optimization to science fiction and fantasy.
Like Calypso said to Davy Jones in “Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End”, “It’s what I am”.
What prompted the blatant reference to Scifi? This story about Google Voice. I’m still under the weather as you all may have guessed but my antibiotic regimen helped me devise the following rhyme in honor of Grand Central/Google Voice’s second rise and (first return).
Three Rings Before I Hang Up,
Seven Rings If I Really Want To Speak,
Nine Rings If I Feel Like A Nut,
One Ring For Google Is All You Need
In The Land of Telephone Where Customer Service Sucks.
One Number To Rule Them All, One Number To Find Them
One Number To Bring Them All And In Google’s Servers Bind Them
In The Land of Telephone Where Customer Service Sucks.
In other words, if we were really happy with the way we communicate today, there would be no identifiable need for us to unify our points of communication.
But by consolidating our communications visibility into one access point, we transform ourselves into a community of moving communications hubs.
I draw the line at embedding anything in my hand or in my forehead that makes it easier for me to buy and sell. I’m not gonna do that.
I hope to be posting regularly again by the end of this week. Sorry for the disruption.
