Conclusion of SEO test

by Michael Martinez on February 22, 2008

So, our blog is now back to NOT using “www” in the published URL and our SEO test has reached a concluding point. That is, we confirmed that changing Wordpress URLs confuses us.

However, This is an SEO Test Part 2 appeared in Google Blogsearch pretty quickly without the “www” in the URL. I suspect that trying to manipulate the URL structures in such a close timeframe may have broken the test.

Either that or Google fixed a problem that I just managed to trip over. I’m more inclined to believe that my test is flawed because we were flip-flopping the URLs in rapid succession and probably got something out of sync.

Oh well, that concludes SEO Theory for today. I hope you have a good weekend.

Here are the #2 and #3 entries I got for the term “seo theory”. One doesn’t have the www and the other has the www. The #1 entry for “seo theory” is your old blogpress SEO Theory site. When are you going to get that moved down? Or do you want to? I notice that #3 is your domain home page, but it isn’t in a folder like #1 is. BTW, just my opinion, but I prefer the use of capitals in your blog headings. Non-cap titles look cool and mod, but they confuse me. I thought they were section breaks from one long post. I took me awhile to figure out that they were blog titles that I should click on them to continue reading the post.

How come when I cut and pasted the two entries above, the one with the w’s is a live link, but the one w/o the w’s isn’t a live link? So, is this a good reason to use the three w’s?

Rats. I try to break the links but Wordpress just insists on making them into links.

I am sure there is some option that could be turned off but I’m too busy to fuss with it.

Sorry.

Anyway — um, I see no reason to take down the old Blogger blog because, frankly, I don’t want anyone to grab the sub-domain and use it to pretend they are me.

There are still old links pointing to that blog, too. Might as well pass the PageRank on to where it belongs….
